Dealing Challenging Behaviors for Alzheimer’s Caregivers

One troubling behavior encountered by Alzheimer’s Caregivers is Sundowner’s Syndrome. Sundowner’s Syndrome is erratic and sometimes aggressive behavior demonstrated by Alzheimer’s and dementia patients in the evening hours. In our local Alzheimer’s support group families routinely discuss challenging behaviors demonstrated in the evening. It’s one thing to read about people theorizing about it, but it’s quite another to hear someone describing their experience with it.
